What Is Plaid?
Plaid is the secure connection layer between BilzCal and your bank. It's used by thousands of financial apps including Venmo, Robinhood, and Coinbase. Your bank credentials go directly to Plaid — BilzCal never sees or stores them.
How to Connect
- Click "Connect Bank Account" in your Bank Accounts page
- Search for your bank in the Plaid connection window
- Log in with your bank credentials (goes directly to Plaid)
- Select which accounts to connect (checking, savings, credit cards)
- Map to your BilzCal accounts or create new ones
What Gets Synced
- - Transactions: New charges and deposits appear automatically
- - Balances: Current balance updates daily
- - Account details: Account names and types
Keeping Your Connection Healthy
Bank connections occasionally need re-authentication. This happens when:
- - Your bank password changes
- - Your bank requires periodic re-verification
- - Multi-factor authentication expires
BilzCal will alert you when a connection needs attention, and re-connecting takes just a few clicks.
